Lost things...

Today i'd like to share one of my most favourite books with you. The main reason i picked it up was because Rob Ryan did the front cover (God i'm so obsessed!) I'm really into the dark side of fairytales, I looked into the Psycologhy of them for my dissertation at University. It was really interesting and a little weird. But anyway, this book is about a young boy struggling with changes in his life and growing up. He finds himself being led into a dark fairytale land by the crooked man in search of his dead mother.

The Website for this book is really good too. This is one of my favourite quotes by John Connolly -

'What may sometimes seem beyond endurance can be endured, for others have endured it, and when all hope seems lost there is still reason to believe, for others have found hope in the darkest of places.' John Connolly

Macabre Art....

I want to introduce more skeletons and taxidermy into my work. So I've been looking at some really cool macabre artist's work for a bit of inspiration.
Here's a few of my favourites...

Tin Head...

I can't believe i haven't shared the wonderful illusrator Tin Head with you! He's done loads of art work for the band Foals, thats how i found out about him. I love his collagey, eclectic style and the narrative too, but he sealed the deal as one of my favourite artists when i found this Arnie piece of work!!

Play time at Sarah's house...

Me and my equally clothe's obsessed friend Sarah had our very own LookBook day today. It was sooo much fun, it's not every day you get to pose with a gun! Here's a few my favourite photos...

Your so Great and I love you....

I could possibly be THE most happiest person today. Go ahead and vomit, i'll just sit here and smile!
I heard this song for the first time in sooo many years last night. My older sister was the biggest Blur fan in her indie youth, and unfortunately she never made it past the 80's and 90's with her music. But for this i'll forgive her...

So here goes being 25...

It's been sooo long since I've posted anything! But i had a week off work and went to my sister's for jollies and i had my birthday too, which was probably the best one to date!
So I'm not usually a fan of the big time modern artists but Tracey Emin has collaborated with the late Louise Bourgeois for an exhibition called 'Do not abandon me' at Hauser and Wirth gallery in London. Some of the pieces are a bit too crude and in your face for me, but some of them are really quite sensitive. Here's my favourite ones....

'Reaching for you'

'A sparrow's heart'

'Waiting for you'
